Graphic Designer / Marketing Assistant

Consensus Planning is seeking a talented Graphic Designer/Marketing Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will closely collaborate with our planners, landscape architects, and project managers to create compelling visual materials that communicate planning and design concepts, proposals, and project outcomes to clients, stakeholders, and the general public. As a Marketing Assistant, the duties will include regular updates to the company’s website; creating and updating project webpages for specific projects; working with staff on creating, posting, and monitoring social media content.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and produce high-quality graphics, presentations, and visual materials, including but not limited to document layout, website updates, social media posts, maps, interpretive signage, community branding, and illustrations.
  • Work closely with the Management Team and planning and landscape design staff to understand project goals and objectives, ensuring that graphic design approaches meet the project objectives.
  • Translate complex data and technical information into clear and visually engaging graphics.
  • Support the development of project proposals, reports, and presentations.
  • Update the firm’s website through WordPress and create interactive project websites to assist in engaging and informing the public.
  • Maintain consistency in branding and visual quality/style across all materials.
  • Manage, post, and monitor social media sites (content may be developed by others).
  • Contribute to brainstorming sessions and provide creative input on design projects.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience (portfolio required) as a graphic designer, preferably in a related field such as architecture, urban planning, or landscape architecture.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software and tools, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp, and/or other relevant software.
  • Proficiency in large document layout in Adobe InDesign.
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated expertise in graphic design principles, typography, color theory, and composition.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work under deadlines.

Schedule and Compensation:

This position can be either full- or part-time, depending on the applicant’s needs, and with flexible hours based on project needs. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and skill level.

Landscape Architect

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (preferred) in landscape architecture or related field.
  • +/-5 years of relevant experience in a landscape architectural firm or multi-disciplinary office environment.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect.
  • Experience with a variety of project types including parks and open space, single and multi-family development, streetscapes, institutional, educational, and redevelopment.
  • Experience in the preparation of contract documents (knowledge of construction materials and methods, plant materials, irrigation design and cost estimation). Knowledge and proficiency in the development of technical specifications a plus.
  • Experience in construction administration including responding to contractor inquiries in written, graphic and verbal formats.
  • Experience managing projects including developing project schedules, and construction cost estimates at the planning, conceptual, schematic, and working drawing stages.
  • Experienced with communicating with Clients and associated professional disciplines.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet internal and external project deadlines.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite (experience rendering in Sketchup and Lumion a plus).

Additional Skills and Experience (desired, but not required):

  • Familiarity and experience with passive and active stormwater harvesting, green stormwater infrastructure, and xeriscape design principles.
  • Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements for landscape and site plans in the City of Albuquerque, or related experience from other municipalities.
  • Commitment to mentoring new landscape designers into the profession.
  • Experience in the development and verbal delivery of presentations.
  • Site design, including but not limited to, circulation design, courtyard and pool environments, and site/drainage coordination.
  • Understanding and experience with urban design in the form of sketching and conceptual plan development.
  • Active participation in community organizations such as ASLA, Think Trees, Land and Water Summit or other organizations that contribute to our profession and social well-being.
  • Spanish language skills.
