Landscape Architect
Landscape architects and designers at Consensus Planning collaboratively design joyful, ecologically responsive spaces for interaction and play. As a social art landscape architecture integrates critical thinking and creative thought-provoking designs responding to societal needs, the regulatory framework, the client’s requisite goals, and ecological priorities to achieve landscape design excellence.
We are looking for an ambitious individual who is passionate about landscape design and will contribute to a dynamic, growing landscape architectural practice that capitalizes on its reputation for concise and complete construction documents, and aspires to translate community involvement into responsive, joyful environments. Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s and/or master’s degree (preferred) in landscape architecture or related field.
- +/-5 years of relevant experience in a landscape architectural firm or multi-disciplinary office environment.
- Licensed Landscape Architect.
- Experience with a variety of project types including parks and open space, single and multi-family development, streetscapes, institutional, educational, and redevelopment.
- Experience in the preparation of contract documents (knowledge of construction materials and methods, plant materials, irrigation design and cost estimation). Knowledge and proficiency in the development of technical specifications a plus.
- Experience in construction administration including responding to contractor inquiries in written, graphic and verbal formats.
- Experience managing projects including developing project schedules, and construction cost estimates at the planning, conceptual, schematic, and working drawing stages.
- Experienced with communicating with Clients and associated professional disciplines.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and meet internal and external project deadlines.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, Adobe Suite (experience rendering in Sketchup and Lumion a plus).
Additional Skills and Experience (desired, but not required):
- Familiarity and experience with passive and active stormwater harvesting, green stormwater infrastructure, and xeriscape design principles.
- Experience and knowledge of regulatory requirements for landscape and site plans in the City of Albuquerque, or related experience from other municipalities.
- Commitment to mentoring new landscape designers into the profession.
- Experience in the development and verbal delivery of presentations.
- Site design, including but not limited to, circulation design, courtyard and pool environments, and site/drainage coordination.
- Understanding and experience with urban design in the form of sketching and conceptual plan development.
- Active participation in community organizations such as ASLA, Think Trees, Land and Water Summit or other organizations that contribute to our profession and social well-being.
- Spanish language skills.
